Abstract

Purpose: We meant to study about what a relation between the light intensity and the blinking velocity has, and how different the recovery time of acuity according to the light intensity is.
Method: We divided the light power into 5 levels. And by levels, we estimated the blinking velocity and visual acuity recovery time of the parents who were exposed to the light for 16 seconds.
Result: The average of blinking velocity related to light intensities was distributed from 31.97¡¾10.91 mm/s to 33.38¡¾11.20 mm/s. There weren¡¯t any significant relations between the light intensity and the blinking velocity(r = 0.006), and the velocities of wearing contact lens and not wearing it had no difference(p = 0.351). Although the concerns of the visual acuity recovery time by the light power were low(r = 0.339), after the analysed results, they showed the valid concern between the two variables(t = 5.239, p < 0.001).
Conslusions: The blinking velocity has not significant correlation of light intensity and wearing contact lens. But intensity of light stronger, the visual acuity recovery time increased.
